Ottoman Turks started again to play a significant role in city's life.
Commerce and Academics were the biggest success of the
greek population. New schools, churches and businesses were
created by Istanbul Greek Society. Since 1955 Pogrom and 1964
deportation of member's of Greek minority despite the population
decline, Istanbul Greeks are still in presence with a prominent
present and future

Since Greece-Turkey's renewal relationships, the new era began for Istanbul's once vibrant society.
Nowdays there are around 90 churches, 12 monasteries -most of in ruins- and around 30 schools of all
levels.
Since financial recession of Greece many Greeks come to Istanbul for accommodation and work.
Noways the Istanbul's greek population is about 4,500 people with 1,000 and more from Greece who they
live or work in here.
