Izmir today has almost 100 ethnic greeks, most of them belong to Greek consulate's personel or
for NATO's military personel. However there is still greek presentation in one of the most
historical -for hellenism of Turkey's city. There is one active chapel, Saint Fotini locates in
Bornova district for covering the clergic needs of the community.

There is no greek minority school, however the members students of the community are active
students of private or public schools in the city.

Lastly there is an active immigration within city from Greece by candidate workers and students,
which will provide an increase of the tiny greek population of the city.


In Izmir also there are other minorities such as Jewish -around 2.000 people, Armenian around
1.500 people and Levantine about 2.000 people .
